Crystals, being beautiful physical objects, can literally help us keep in touch with the world around us. But they don't only ground us, their qualities can inspire us to adopt new ideas and ways of living, and also help keep us focused on key aspects of our journey. Their innate characteristics such as colour and transparency can assist in our quest for personal development. Our perennial fascination with them is further strengthened by the fact their geological stability can make them lifelong companions.
The book contains descriptions of many of the most popular crystals and minerals, including notes on the way they form in nature, the way people have treasured and used them in the past, and how their ancient wisdom can still be applied to the present day. A wide range of activities are suggested as ways of using crystals to help make the most of our selves and the opportunities life offers, and also to navigate the challenges we may face in daily life.
It's worth sparing a moment to consider that most of the atoms in these colourful rocks, like the elements in our own body, came into being far from the Earth in stars billions of years ago; and some - such as hydrogen - were created in the Big Bang itself.
